Fun Babysitting Ideas For Kids
As a babysitter, one should always have a few babysitting ideas up her sleeve to help entertain the children when boredom sets in. It is best to know what type of activities the children like to do when planning these activities. Are the children into sports, crafts, games, or cooking?
Whether you are babysitting one child or a group, children love the parachute game. All that is required is a big blanket and a bunch of stuffed animals. Start by placing the blanket on the floor and have the children put their stuffed animals in the center of the blanket. The children should then form a circle behind the blanket and, with both hands, pick up the sides of the blanket. At the count of one, lift the blanket up and down and do the same at the count of two. At the count of three, the kids should lift the blanket really hard and high, trying to knock the animals off of the blanket. It is fun to see whose stuffed animal can stay on the longest.
Activities for outside can include things like obstacle courses, hide and seek, tag, races, and scavenger hunts. A game that is similar to tag is one called Colored Eggs. It is meant for a group of kids but can be played with as few as three people. Choose one person to be the wolf, one person to be the mother, and the rest of the children are the eggs. The mother gives each egg a color such as red, blue, or green. The wolf comes along and tries to guess each of their colors. When he guesses one, that egg starts running and the wolf tries to catch him. The object is for the wolf to catch as many eggs as he can.
